What a launchpool is and how to take part

A launchpool is an exchange program in which users lock (stake) coins they already hold and receive tokens of a new project in return. The exchange sets aside a fixed reward pool for the whole period and distributes it hourly or daily among participants in proportion to their share of the total stake. The programs have different names: Launchpool on Binance, Bybit, Bitget, MEXC, Gate and BingX, PoolX on Bitget, GemPool on KuCoin, Flash Earn on OKX.

To take part you need an account on the exchange — usually a verified one — and a coin the particular pool accepts: most often the exchange's own token, USDT, BTC, ETH or the new coin itself. Some pools are open to new users only, have a limit per participant or are unavailable in certain countries; we show these conditions on the pool's page when the exchange publishes them.

A launchpool's APR is an estimate, not a promise. It is calculated from the current total stake and the price of the new coin: at the start, while the stake is small, it can reach hundreds or thousands of percent, and it falls as the pool fills up. The price of the new token can also change a lot after listing, so the actual yield is known only after the pool ends.

Staked coins can usually be withdrawn at any time before the pool ends, but rewards accrue only for the time you take part. Before joining, check the conditions on the exchange's page: dates, limits, account requirements and withdrawal rules.
